Chevy Bow Tie
Chevy Bow Tie Logo Turns 100 – 1969 version my favorite

There was a time you wouldn’t see another car brand in my driveway unless a friend was over visiting.
The emblem above fell off my 1969 Chevy Bel Air, a car I purchased from my wife’s great grandfather at the time. The thing had never seen a highway until I got a hold of it. The engine seals didn’t last long.
My last Chevy pickup was a 1989 Step-side 1500. Loved that truck. Put almost 200,000 miles on it before the block froze one winter. The manual transmission with a 305 gave me better gas mileage than most anything on the road today.
Sure wish GM would get out of the box they are in with truck design and take a look at Dodge. Chevy’s 2014 design is uninspiring, to say the least.
Happy Birthday Chevrolet. Maybe you can wish for some design inspiration when you blow out your cake candles.
